Overnight Mountain Hut Hike
Sud Tirol Dolomites
This is one of the most dramatic and exciting hiking areas in the Alps. Strikingly different from the French and Swiss Alps, the limestone Dolomites of northern Italy rise dramatically from Alpine Valleys to form startling, spire-like peaks and towering canyonesque rock faces. Beginning in the Sud Tirol, we will hike along the hgh route, Alta Via 1, through the Pragser, Tofana Civetta mountain groups. The impressive scenery and vareity of the terrain is matched only by the warmth and hospitality of the rifugio and hotels. The unusual contrasts in landscapes, added to the curious mix of Italian and Austrian influences, means fantastic hiking and plenty of pasta!
