The award-winning Camp Darby Outdoor Recreation (ODR) program is a unique all-season operation with facilities that provide: equipment rental, adventure trips, and cultural trips. We handle a wide variety of services to include passes for the swimming pool, info on the American Beach in Tirrenia, classes in Scuba Diving (PADI certification), kennel services and much more!

Darby Outdoor Recreation is also in charge of the campsite and RV site which have everything you need for an enjoyable trip. On our campsite you will find shower facilities at either end of the grounds as well as air conditioned Vending Rooms equipped with a microwave and vending machines for coffee, beverages and snacks. Our reception area is even equipped with an ATM machine (during business hours) and a lounge with a large screen TV for your enjoyment.

Cultural Trips
Outdoor Recreation offers a large variety of cultural trips designed to expose community members to the many cultural sites present in Italy and the surrounding area. These trips include museum tours, shopping excursions, city tours, and trips to international festivals and events. Cultural trips are programmed year-round and are a fantastic way to learn about Italy and its culture.

High Adventure
High priority is placed on challenge-type activities that contribute to physical fitness, military skills, and safe practice of outdoor pursuits. These trips include wakeboarding, hydrospeed, and whitewater rafting. Outdoor Recreation prides itself on giving its customers the adrenaline rush they desire.

Instructional Classes
Classes make up a large part of the program schedule at Camp Darby Outdoor Recreation. Classes include bike and ski equipment maintenance, SCUBA Diving, and Skiing and Snowboarding. Participants have the opportunity to become certified in SCUBA diving and have the added option of continuing their training from advanced classes to leadership level and instructor classes. Cycling enthusiast can not only take advantage of regularly scheduled trips but can also learn how to conduct routine and advanced maintenance on their own bicycles. Similar opportunities are offered to ski and snowboard enthusiasts in the form of FREE beginning ski and snowboarding lessons and equipment maintenance classes.

Private Trips
Special interest groups and private trips are another benefit to the community offered by Camp Darby ODR. The development of specialized private trips is offered for every type of activity from fishing, and skiing to cultural trips and private dinners.

Equipment Check-Out
Camp Darby Outdoor Recreation operates a full service equipment check out center. Equipment available for checkout ranges from backpacks and snowboards to tents and SCUBA equipment. Community members are able to participate in many outdoor sports without having to invest in costly personal equipment.

Camp Darby Kennel Services
Registration/Payment - Located in Building 751.
Kenneling/Misc - Located in Building 690 (ODR).

Reservations must be made at least two working days prior to your drop-off date at Outdoor Recreation.

Animal Lodging Rates (basic rates, lodging only):
Cats - $8 per day
Dogs - $10 per day

Animal Lodging Rates (Complete Care Package):
Cats - $16 per day
Dogs - $20 per day

You can also utilize a dog-washing area located in the Auto Skills Center.

Campsites & RV Sites ($16 - $25, depending on rank & area)
Campsites and RV Sites are equipped with the following:
- 72 eletricity-possible campsites
- 3 RV sites (with cement platform)
- BBQ Grills
- Covered Wash Tables
- Picnic Tables Located Throughout the Campground Area
- 2 Large Shower Facilities Located on Either Side of Campground
- 2 Overflow Areas (open camping) for Groups.
