The Financial Readiness Program offers classes on financial topics such as bank account management, relocation entitlements, basic money management, special personal financial management, and consumer education classes that target specific financial issues. Our goal is to provide you with quality service and information to enable you to have a stable financial future.
In addition, the Financial Readiness Program supports Commanders in maintaining unit financial readiness to sustain deployments by educating and counseling service members and their Families on financial self-sufficiency. Program services are available to all Soldiers, Families, retired, and reserve service members from all branches of the armed forces, and Department of Defense civilian employees.
The program helps Soldiers and Families formulate a basic plan, which provides for a comfortable lifestyle and still allows for the opportunity to develop financial stability. If you have a Family (including single Soldier parents), we can assist in preparing a working Family spending plan. For those who are experiencing or anticipating financial difficulties, we offer one-on-one coaching or consultations, to include debt liquidation management. Individual counseling sessions can be scheduled for advice on any consumer issue such as making a major purchase, bankruptcy or starting an IRA to name a few.
The budget counseling program can either be self-referred or command directed. The program is designed to help Soldiers pay off their debts by working with their creditors. If clients are self-referred, their records are confidential and protected.
Have a consumer complaint? The Financial Readiness Program is designed to educate the community on their rights as consumers and will assist by being your advocate by negotiating a workable solution between you and the vendor.
The Financial Readiness Program also provides AER Assistance and Information.
It is highly recommended you call for an appointment, to ensure you are eligible for services and a counselor is readily available to assist you. For more information in scheduling training or to set up an appointment in any of these areas, call ACS at 634-8634 or 634-7500.
