AFTB

Our Mission
Army Family Team Building empowers individuals, maximizing their personal growth and professional development through specialized training, transforming our community into a resilient and strong foundation meeting today's Military mission.

Our Vision
To develop strong, knowledgeable and engaged individuals and communities.

Army Family Team Building is a series of training modules taught at Army Community Service that cover topics such as basic information about the Army, personal growth skills and leadership skills. AFTB improves personal and Family preparedness which enhances overall Army readiness and helps America's Army adapt to a changing world. AFTB helps you to not just cope with, but enjoy the military lifestyle. Many of the courses can be applied toward resume and career building, self-development and leadership skills. Active duty Soldiers can earn promotion points for participating in the trainings. AFTB provides the knowledge and self-confidence to take responsibility for yourself and your Family. The trainings are available to Soldiers, Family members, Department of Defense civilians and volunteers. The daytime classes offer FREE childcare!

Our Values
We value excellence in:
Quality Training - It is our signature; it is who we are and what we do!
Resourcefulness - The ability to overcome challenges.
Life-Long Learning - Opportunities that meet the needs of our community.

Our Goals
• Prepare individuals through specialized training generating flexible, adaptive and capable Soldiers, Families and Civilians.
• Enhance personal growth and professional development by leveraging an adaptive curriculum and technology meeting the needs of the transforming Military.
• Employ resources to build and strengthen enduring partnerships resulting in resilient strong communities.

AFTB Courses:

Level I training: "We're in the Army Now – ARMY101" are targeted for people new to the Army or anyone interested in updating personal skills or basic knowledge.

Level II training: "Surviving and Thriving in the Army," expands on AFTB Level I training, but Level I is not a prerequisite for this course. Grow personally through self-development modules. Learn how to improve your communication skills, personal relationships, and stress management skills. Discover how teams form and grow, how to solve problems and how to resolve personal conflict. Acquire knowledge on Army traditions, customs, courtesies and protocol.

Level III training: "Making a Difference through Leadership," will help you to continue to develop those all important leadership and communication skills. Learn how to manage conflict and become a mentor. Get the skills you need to succeed at home, work and play! There is no prerequisite for this course.

Check course schedules using the Community Calendar, then contact AFTB at 634-8526 or stop by Davis Hall to sign up classes. You can also email aftb@vicenzamwr.com for more information. The daytime classes offer FREE childcare! Please note that childcare spaces are limited. Courses are also available on-line through www.myarmyonesource.com.
